About Mirissa
Mirissa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in the Matara District of the Southern Province. It is situated at an elevation of 4 metres above sea level. Mirissa is a popular tourist destination, especially for whale watching. The beach is a beautiful crescent-shaped bay with golden sand and clear blue waters. The town is known for its laid-back atmosphere, fresh seafood, and stunning sunsets. Whale watching tours operate from November to April, offering the chance to see blue whales, sperm whales, and dolphins.
